The ContiChrom technology platform consists of a continuous chromatography system using the MCSGP ( Multicolumn Countercurrent Solvent Gradient Purification ) principle in conjunction with high resolution resins yielding unparalleled product resolution, purity and yield.

Continuous chromatography does not mean that the process has to run for an extended period, rather in most cases the processing time is as long as in batch chromatography. Instead, the term "continuous" refers to the continuous recycling of the side fraction during operation.

ChromaCon's MCSGP process is a continuous process, which is based on the same mode of adsorption as batch chromatography, but the MCSGP process recycles impure side fraction inside the process until they are pure. High resolution resins, typically used for analytical applications can be used in a preparative ContiChrom system due to the much smaller scale and pressure constraints.
